I looked at newspaper articles to see if they had any information about covid and treatment throughout this pandemic. This article popped up a day ago talking about how Sajid Javid who is the secretary of State for Health and Social Care told the NHS to send cancer patients to private hospitals to stop further treatment delays caused by the pandemic. This is due to the rising number of trusts experiencing debilitating staff shortages due to Covid cases. These private beds will be paid for by the NHS and include provision of some forms of cancer surgery and other care not normally provided by the private sector.

I personally think this is a step in the right direction for cancer patients as I feel like in the first lockdown they were set aside due to the government completely focusing on the covid patients.
